Kite and sailing in Sardinia

Sardinia is a pretty large island with more than 100 beaches, several ports and pontoons in remote villages and numerous protected bays for anchoring.
The island offers beautiful white sand beaches and crystal clear water The local Mistral (from NW) and Sirocco (from SE) winds consistently hit the coastline, which makes it ideal spot for kitesurf enthusiasts. Just incredible kiting conditions: 15-30kts of wind on flat turquoise waters.
For those seeking a more adventurous water sport, kiting in Sardinia is an absolute must-try. Imagine the thrill of harnessing the power of the wind, launching yourself into the air and performing gravity-defying tricks above the turquoise Tyrrhenian Sea.
Whether you’re a seasoned kiter or a beginner, you can count on our on-board kite pro, the local kiteboarding school and several rental shops to help you get started and make the most of your time on the water.

WeAreYachting.com joined forces with H2O Kite Spot Mamaia, Romania

H2O Kite Spot Mamaia is the first kite spot to be opened at the Black Sea over 20 years ago. Since then they have consistently promoted the sport, having trained hundreds of kiters that have embraced kiting as a lifestyle.
H2O has also organised over 20 yearly international contests and certified dozens of kite instructors that now have their own kite schools, taking the sport at even higher levels.
During this Antigua trip you will be able to steal moves from Iulian Tache, one of the founding members of H2O and also our on-board kite pro, making him the perfect guide to teach you how to launch from a catamaran.

What should you expect from this sailing & kite trip

We always charter the newest and largest catamarans available. You can share a double cabin with another kiter or even better, bring your own crew. Non kiters are also welcomed, as there will be plenty of things to do.
Meals are included and the hostess onboard will cook breakfast & lunch everyday and dinner for 2 nights.  The rest of the dinners will be at different restaurants on shore, where you will be able to dive into the local flavors.
Everyday sailing from one bay to another will take from 30 min up to 2 hours. There will be morning, noon and evening kite sessions, depending on the wind conditions. We will try to anchor as close as possible to a beach so the non kiters can indulge in different types of activities- paddle boarding, snorkeling, fishing, island exploring & hiking or spend time at the beach and the beach bars.

Itinerary

As we will be chasing good wind conditions, this trip in particular has a far more fluid itinerary. The plan is to explore the most important bays that meet the best kiting conditions. As we will explore the northern part of Sardinia and southern part of Corsica (France), daily sailing distances are short – 5 to 15Nm, meaning you will have plenty of time to kite each day.
